Visions of Blog Success

Things I've been willing to invest in this summer are things that will help me turn this little blog of joy into a full-time career. I've been working on all the elements involved in such a possibility.

The one thing that has surprised me is that I thought for sure I would be cranking out some handbags or other craft ventures this summer. I have zero interest right now in doing anything of the sort. I have ideas to make for myself and for gifts, but going into a financial venture to make and sell things is not inspiring me right now. I am really surprised. I thought that would be the first thing I would do.

Rather it has been my writing that has been fueling my soul during this season. I have several writing projects in motion, one of which is kalanicut. For the improvement of the blog and potential business opportunities it holds, I have been working on a redesign, at building relationships with other bloggers, volunteering to participate in blog-related charitable events (I'll tell you all about one this coming week!). I'm trying to learn in every way possible. I'm thrilled to be taking Blogging Your Way, with Holly Becker and Leslie Shewring. I'm only a couple of days into the class and already so excited and inspired.

I have to say I believe I will get much, much more than my money's worth from this class. I look forward to upgrading my blog as I learn so many new things. I am also looking forward to forging new relationships with bloggers in the class from around the world. It's amazing how you can make friends and support people from such a distance. I'll share one of those people with you later this week as well.

I guess I'm taking my own blog temperature today. It's been almost a year since finally starting kalanicut, which I had been developing in my mind for two years before that.  Part of our class homework this week is outline our five priorities for our blogs. That took me less that a minute to write down, which I hope means I know where I'm going and what I hope to accomplish.

I look at all the experiences I've had studying and working and see how each one of them plays into all I do as a blogger and I'm so grateful for them. It's been a great experience and I'm looking forward to continuing down the road. Thank you so very much for being part of this journey!

Thanks for stopping by my blog the other day! I've just read a couple of your most recent posts and you write so well. It looks like you've been blogging consistently for so much longer than I have, hopefully I'll reach that level with persistence!
